Ali began her career by attending one of the preeminent colleges in California for winemaking. She graduated in 2013 from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California with a degree in Wine & Viticulture. After school, she continued her education by taking an internship at South Coast Winery in Temecula, California. She later became their Enologist in 2016. During the transition between intern to full-fledged wine scientist, she took a job at a local wine bistro called The Barrel Room. She honed her wine tasting and front of house skills for four years. Ali became a Certified Sommelier in 2017 and later taught at a community college for three semesters. She moved to Texas in June of 2019 and took a cellar position at Grape Creek Vineyards. Eventually she partnered up with Michael Barton, our Winemaker, and took her current position as our Assistant Winemaker.
